1st thing, if there is no flow agitation of water inside tank, then there is a possibility of algae, 2nd. co2 is less, 3rd, if you trim and replant, then the dirt form from substrate sets on the leaves, 4. adding access amount of iron with out CO2. 5th, bright light with out CO2.

Actually Florida Flag fish will eat every strand. They are a great asset to any planted tank.

What if my algae is completely intertwined with my carpet of hairgrass. i cannot pull the hair algae as i will uproot my plant. I have 8 amano shrimps but they don't seem to be doing much. i might need to lower the intensity of my light
