LeConte Glacier calving! Buoyant calving which is happening here, is the release of an "Ice foot" below the waterline.

Typically most calving is seen from the subaerial portion of the glacier which occurs from waterline melting. This leaves the submerged section or the "ice foot". Buoyant forces then cause the ice foot to eventually break off and explode to the surface.

Depending on the size of the piece or pieces that break off. It can create large waves and loud thunderous sounds!
