"maybe check the credits"

It's not all that uncommon, from what I can tell, for people to go uncredited for their work in the anime industry. It's not exactly a sure fire way to know if an animator worked on a cut or not.

Animation is hard, man.
Having your name on display at the credits must be so cool. It's easy to see why people would be pissed off if credited incorrectly or even going uncredited.

interesting how a mistake can be lead to show everyone how good an animator is

Part of my distaste from stealing content is that they don't credit the creator. If one person steals then another will and that can lead to more misinformation and the real creator never gets the credit

why is everyone acting like the poster got ultra canceled + beheaded when the miscredited animator in question just corrected him really calmly and punctually? didn’t seem like a big deal

Nah thats a big brain play. He got confirmation directly from the animator, thus being able to properly credit the first and remove the :presumed: tag.

Sounds like the real problem is the actual studios don’t do a good enough job properly crediting animators for their specific contributions so people don’t have to guess and then get bullied for getting it wrong!

As much as i hated having to use APA citations in uni, this post reminded me of why basic research skills are so useful

why is everyone acting like the poster just spat on every worker in japan took a fat shit on the animator then beheaded 3 individuals when he had in his bio that he wanted to be corrected from his mistakes

I think at the very least they aren't miscrediting with malicious intent, rather they genuinely believe they're crediting the right people.
Which, can cause just as much trouble but is a lot better than someone just spreading misinfo on purpose.

Uh oh, someone post a clip if anime they thought was cool, but credited the wrong animator. Did that animator acknowledge the clip or denounce the practice of clip posting? Nope, he just pointed out it wssnt his.

How is this a story?

G move to post the screenshot with zero results for them ever posting the presumed tagged lmao, love it

Another big issue with assuming off someone's style is that artists and animators often specifically work to match the style guide to keep a work unified. If they're doing their job right, you shouldn't be able to pick out who did what.

That doesn't seem like a big deal let alone embarrassing as people in the comments make it out to be. Mistakes are made and things are corrected

It's already cool enough that we live in a time where we're able to point out key animators for specific scenes and give them the recognition they deserve ❤

I remember seeing the last part and just being like "oh my god when the hell is this going to end?". It goes on for like, three times longer than it needs to.

A little embarrassing but that seems like an honest mistake he saw a tag and forgot to put presumed
