Pakistan's Sheedis celebrate crocodile festival in Karachi

Pakistan's Sheedi community celebrates Sheedi Mela, or crocodile festival, at the Manghopir shrine on the outskirts of Karachi. The festival was the largest gathering in several years after the annual event was suspended over security concerns.

People are being misguided. This is not shirk. They are not worshipping the crocodiles. They are just following traditions of a Pir Sahab who brought these crocodiles to this land hundreds of years ago. Manghopir is a shrine (darbar), thats it. In the end, All people pray directly to Allah.

What you saw in the beginning, when people were feeding the croc, it was a type of sadaqah. Then the people go to the shrine and pray to Allah for their lives.

Do some research before assuming stuff.

This is the oldest and peaceful community in Karachi. In practical they are much better than those, who are killing the people in the name of God and religion.
