Jeff. Thanks a million for this step-by-step! I had installed a doorbell cam before but I was a little leery of having to drill through the garage wall. Your tutorial broke down all the necessary prep so I was more than confident I could get this done. Much appreciated good sir. I read another review of the Spotlight that mentioned that you lose some range [distance] of visibility at night when the spotlight comes on vs just using the cams infrared, so I taped over the lights and I can see all the way out to my gate at the other end of the driveway.

This is what I’m looking for. Thanks for sharing your great idea. I was gonna install the camera to our new house but I was hesitant to cut the cord or make a bigger hole to fit the cord end... and then I saw this.. now I’m fan of yours haha God bless you brother!

Great video and answered my main questions. 1/ does not use an adapter, but an AC plug. 2/ the ability to temporarily remove the cord from the camera body for through-hole installation. Thank you!

Great video, I was concerned about feeding the thick cable through a wall. Disconnecting it from the base was a simple solution that most people just over look

Great instructional video. I will be installing my cam soon. (I just purchased it tonight. Must have been returned by someone as it came without an instruction manual and ring sticker, but as long as it works and is not damaged, It should be ok. Thank you for the tutorial. Great job! One small thing, I’m an optician and have seen numerous patients over the years with permanent eye injuries from not wearing protective eyewear while drilling brick and etc... I would recommend using some kind of eyewear protection during the process. Just my two cents. Thanks again!

Thanks for doing the video. Truth be told, when I was wiring the two power cord wires, I broke the terminals on one of them. Thanks to Ring, in that they sent me a replacement unit at no charge.

Great Video! I wish all videos were this good. I have some Qs.
1. I plan on drilling from the outside of the house and not the inside. Any concerns?
2. What kind of caulk do you use?
3. What kind of drill do I need for this?
4. Do I drill into the brick or mortar? Does it matter?
5. Not a question but please use a N95 mask when doing this. Drilling into brick is hazardous is what I read.

At the 14:57 mark you are attaching the camera to the camera mount. when did you separate them? How did you separate the pieces?
