Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Moscow on Monday for his first visit since Russia invaded Ukraine. Former Canadian ambassador to China Guy Saint-Jacques says Xi's visit is an appeal to strengthen the Chinese government’s alliance with Russia, disguised as a peace brokering trip.

Genuine question - NATO provided weapons to Ukraine without being seen as declaring war to Russia, so why are we trying to condemn China for possibly providing weapons to Russia and/or Ukraine?

The rhetoric lacks any insight whatsoever it is just the same verbiage that every other station or talk show is displaying. I'm sure that the two of them will discuss the war in Ukraine but there must be other issues that must be on the list as well, such as rebuilding the country and communities and infrastructure in a post-war world, further trade agreements, proposed research both technological, mining, other industries etc.

International rules equals to US rules, what US said is the law for the world.

China is only interested in one thing, i.e. peace, and US is the opposite, i.e. wars. The two are in diametrically opposite businesses, China in creating consumer goods market, and US in military products. Therefore, what we can expect from Xi's visit is an effort to propose a conditional ceasefire in Ukraine and at the same time you'll see the opposition from US.
I personally believe that the best Ukraine can achieve is a conditional ceasefire first, i.e., the one without getting the lost territories back, but with a promise of economic and infrastructure development instead. China is more than happy to do that, as it has been doing that all over the world. This one will be a big victory for China. As the lost territories will also be developed, they will become mutually beneficial for the whole region. It also provides a wall between the leftover Ukraine and Russia, to reduce future interest of NATO, if it survives, to expand eastward. Also, protection for the Russian ethnic from persecution in the area. As a tattered country surrounded by hyenas atm, I think Zel will be interested in this way-out. EU might also support it as it can resume business with Russia. US will be the odd one out. About time for it to pack up and go. It might try to tackle Taiwan after, but its troopers, the separatists it trained, will be too small to survive. They will instead try to flee to the US. Similar situation as the defeated South Vietnamese in the past. This will leave the US Navy roaming the South China Sea as "Love Boats".
