The Virtual Boy came out at just the wrong time. The GameBoy was still selling extremely well and the N64 was only a year away. If they gave it a head strap, colors, and released it later after the N64 it probably would have done better.

I think Nintendo should really get back into VR now that the technology is getting better and they're already making a home/handheld hybrid.

If the virtual boy had a yellow or green internal screen, a smaller controller, and some better looking games it would be better

Even AVGN made a video on how bad the virtual boy was, which explains a lot. When nausea and eye strain get involved from a console, it already is a red flag

I love the Virtual Boy. It deserved better. It has some good games and it just needed more of that. Also, unpopular opinion: 3D Tetris is the best Virtual Boy game. It really changed the gameplay of Tetris in a unique way and it payed off. Of course right behind 3D Tetris is Virtual Boy Wario Land and behind that is Mario Clash.

the Virtual Boy didn't fail because of the "weird controller", it failed because the Virtual Boy was rushed out to store shelves as Nintendo delayed the Nintendo 64 from its initial 1995 launch to 1996 so while the Virtual Boy did fill in the gap for Nintendo that year, you can tell it needed more development time and what we got in the end was a barely portable Nintendo system with mostly fine games that unfortunately wasn't enough to save the system

My older sister is 9yrs older than me her then boyfriend was a huge video gamer. I was a kid and use to love when he let ne play his video games. This console/game has been stuck in my head and i feel vindicated knowing I didn't imagine it😅

it failed mostly because of the red 3D screen...the rest was fine....you could only play for a few minutes until you get a headache from yet it is one of the most wanted collectors consoles

I once played it in a video game museum and i liked it,
I like the 3D and the unique game mechanics that make great use of the 3D effect.
I also play my Nintendo 3DS games in 3D so am i alone in this?
