adrien brody stopping the music to ramble about nothing memorable for 5 minutes while the dune part two sound team got played off and MUTED after 20 seconds was insane

Zoe Saldaña during her speech: oh, such a historic win for the latin-american community, I spoke Spanish for the role,
Also her, during her interview afterwards: I'm sorry if Mexicans felt offended, but I disagree, and the movie was not about Mexico, that story could’ve happened anywhere in the world

Yeah, such a "historic" win for latin-americans, Zoe... 🙄

Latvia and Brazil winning an Oscar is amazing, especially taking into account their background stories: Flow, an independent film on a short budget winning over the likes of movies produced by huge companies, competing against breathtaking films in the top notch category of the night while becoming the first Latvian production to get an Oscar nomination ; I'm still here gave Brazil a long overdue Oscar, defying some unsuccesful boycott by some people, committed to showing a dark hiatorical episode, a movie directed by the amazing Walter Salles that features two gems as Fernanda Torres and Fernanda Montenegro.

Caca Diegues is one of the biggest Brazilian directors of all time. 7 of his films were submitted for best international feature for Brazil and he was an academy member. He passed away last month and in a year where there's a Brazilian movie nominated for best film it was pretty disappointing not seeing him in the In Memoriam.

Cillian Murphy standing there looking so done during Adrien Brody’ speech was priceless

One of the worst moments for me, and I don’t see many talking about it, was the acceptance speech for best animated short. They were both Iranian, so English wasn’t their first language, but the woman was doing a fine job translating off their phone. But the dude like flipped out on her and embarrassed her in front of everyone saying she was doing bad job… and then proceeded to read exactly the same thing she did. It was so uncomfortable and sexist.

The David Lynch lack of tribute was terrible. Seriously wtf! 😢

During Adrien Brody's speech, I was hoping they would cut to a shot of John Lithgow. I guess he didn't look disappointed enough.

Thank you for your work! As a Brazilian, it was a big deal for us. First film ever to win. And especially after 25 years since Fernanda Montenegro lost to Gweneth Paltrow for best actress. I hope this leads to more great films being made and getting attention outside our borders. ❤

So true about David Lynch ! I was waiting for something but only just realised that they didn't do anything for David Lynch. They had another redundant James Bond thing

IMO the worst moment was the “In the Shadows of the Cyprus” speech. Poor woman looked so excited to speak and was instantly deflated by whoever that man up there with her was. Completely demeaning and embarrassing during what should’ve been one of the highest points of their lives

Also I am happy that Flow won animated feature.

Agree, the lack of tribute to David Lynch was major disappointment. We could have done without the tribute to OO7 IMO.

The craziest thing about the Bond tribute was that they did three Bond themes, Live and Let Die, Diamonds Are Forever, and SkyFall. And yet, while all three singers of those songs (Sir Paul McCartney, Shirley Bassey, and Adele) are all still alive, they couldn’t bring ANY of them in to sing their own songs? Like, not to knock RAYE, Doja Cat, or that BlackPink singer, but it felt weird to have them do those songs when we could’ve just had the original vocalists.

They gave 007 a RIDICULOUS amount of time. Quincy Jones was just a snippet plus a song that didnt have as much as others for it's remembrance.
