The BEST & WORST Costumes For Every Character In Super Smash Bros Ultimate

Super Smash Bros Ultimate references all of it's series included like mario, zelda, pokemon etc. in several different ways. One of my favorite ways though is the alternate costumes given to each character. Every character in smash ultimate has 8 costumes so today I'm going to be going over the best and worst costume for each character in super smash bros ultimate! I'm basing this on how good the character looks, the costume's origin, and how similar it is to another costume. At the end of the video I will also be presenting the top 10 characters for overall best and overall worst costume in ultimate. I- hey wait haven't I said this before? That's right, this is a remake of the video I made over a year ago about smash ultimate alternate costumes, though this time we finally have all of the dlc characters! So join me as I once and for all say every smash ultimate character's best and worst costumes!

For Pichu's, the sash on the ear could be a reference to a focus sash which allows a Pokemon to survive a hit with 1 HP.

I love how Incineroar is the only pokemon with its shiny as an alt and he didn't choose it.

Really wish we got costume dlc for this game, certain characters could really have awesome costumes but we never got them.

Oh btw most of Inkling's outfits are their own distinct characters with names!
Orange is Kaori, the poster child for S1
Blue is John, the other S1 poster child
Yellow is Kaori in her uniform as Agent 3 (if you don't change any settings in the later games, Kaori is 3 by default)
Pink is Laura, another S1 promo character. I love her shes pretty
Cyan... Isn't actually Specs. It's Rui, another S1 promo character who takes a backseat to Kaori and John like Laura does. Specs is based on Rui, but they're not identical.
Yellow-Green is from the manga, though, and is a combination of the characters Skull and Rider. (Skull's gear, Rider's colour.)
Purple is an unnamed character wearing the school uniform amiibo gear.
Dark blue is the only one that i genuinely cannot find a reference for, but its possible he's (very) loosely based on Pit, a fifth member of the group Kaori, John, Laura and Rui belong to. Pit wears a rugby helmet, though, and is generally cyan in colour, so it's a very loose connection.

In defense of the Purple Piranha Plant, its pot looks golden. Combine that with the purple, and we might just have here a Waluigi reference, which might just mean Piranha Plant is just Waluigi disguising as a Piranha Plant in order to enter Smash without anyone noticing. Because of that, I think it's worthy of an honorable mention.

Honestly I think the more basic palette swaps tend to look better from an aesthetic standpoint than the ones that try to retrofit specific references onto the characters' design. Shulk's alts reference other characters but I think they all look like vomit for example. Of course, the worst cases are when a character's alts are barely distinguishable from one another, as with Cloud and Pac-Man.

To be honest, Byleth's 7th and 8th alts would have been way better if they were wearing either their "Enlightened One" attire or a colour swap resembling it.
