What amazes me is you have enough gear to produce a video near daily. You push relevant and detailed content faster then most. Well done prime, well done.

The whole atari romset is like 20mb lol... And plays on a potato via emulator

"This is not sponsored" ... proceeds to rip it to shreds. Y'know, I think I believe you.

Oh good, so you can have latency issues with a wireless pad, emulator AND server streaming.

What a cool idea...

Don't really see the point of paying for this, with decent handheld emulation, cheap SD cards, and SBCs and TV boxes being quite cheap (if you need some in different rooms)

I think the thing about this that annoys me is PLex Pass holders have to pay for it

I wasn’t aware this was even on plex’s roadmap. I’d like to see ebooks added

The concept it good. I have Plex setup for live tv throughout the house with lifetime membership. If I could light up every device in the house with retro games, that would be cool. If lag could optimized and either it lifetime included or another lifetime membership, I’d might be interested.

I could see this being a thing if the emulation cores were local and the plex server was just serving the rom files over the network. Most systems people are going to emulate run just fine on relatively low end hardware, so the advantage would just be a centralized host for the data, and the client would do the grunt work of actually emulating. Then your only input lag factor would be the bluetooth controller. By pairing this with parsec, you might as well just use parsec and skip plex all together for emulation.

As a proof of concept could test lakka/retroarch with the game library and saves on a network file share. would give you a general idea on overall performance.

Appreciated that you go ahead to test for us 🙏🏻 only if they bundled with a PLEX Pass it is worth playing

I think I'll stick with RetroPie...

I have really come to appreciate your voice in these videos, not something I usually would comment, but makes videos more enjoyable and watchable. I dont need someone screaming at me or acting like they just drink 10 redbulls.

No linux, monthly fee hard pass I'll just press a button one extra time.

Why not include moonlight as well.

Thanks for the evaluation. Although I'm a Plex lifetime owner, the lack of a Linux client drives me crazy. I won't be adding extra subscriptions on top without that.

Sir you have one of the most informative and clean channels on retro gaming. Well done. Salute!!

ETA Prime, with PLEX implementing Arcade, and other plugins like RetroArcher for Plex coming alive, how about you bring us emulation tests of more recent Pentium gold(5420, 6400), newer Celerons. Many people use them as their Plex CPU for their Quick Sync capability. It would be nice to know what to expect when gaming in Windows with the most recent versions of the emulators available.

The only advantage I see at the moment in using this as is, with the low end emulators, is the consolidation of save files, so you can pick up your game in whatever device you are using to play, and that's it.

I do support Plex, but really can't see what's their point with this 🤷‍♂️
