Don actually created hotels track with drums and everything. He even wrote parts for walsh. Felder on the hell freezes over version of hotel california is one of the best live performances ever in rock n roll history.

Hey Anthony, about 2 years ago me and some colleagues started a band, one whose only purpose was fun (since we're all pretty casual)... Hotel California was on the song list and we gradually got better at it... I remember that one time, when I decided to throw in those exact 4 fills for the first time without telling anyone and it was the closest I've ever felt to a Rockstar ♡

Both of their philosophies towards their guitar playing was very similar to playing a brass instrument where you can play a little flourish of notes or chords but a BREATH is required

This is what is missing from modern music. Not guitar specifically but the little parts that the musicians of the 70s threw into their songs are some of the best bits. Eagles and Fleetwood Mac are two that I always come back to but there are countless examples in all genre of the Era
