Absolutely magical, what a great song. So sad Mr Lynott left us at such a young age. Why do the gifted burn out so early, depriving the world of their talent. Sadly missed, an Icon of 70s/80s music. RIP Phil, thanks for the memories.

I cry every time I hear Borderline. Phil was a better poet and songwriter than Jim Morrison and much more talented. I had just turned 22 when Phil died. When I heard the news I broke down uncontrollably. RIP my brother. Thin Lizzy was the best performing rock band that ever lived. I love their music and never get tired of it.

Been listening to lizzy since the early eighties,   In the early days I liked their more rocky fast numbers, never really listening to the more slow, mellow tunes. Now as an old git, with more life experience, I find these songs are ones I listen to more often now. Lizzy never really did a bad song never mind bad album.

Something else, didn't get quarter the recognition he deserved. Wake up Ireland, elvis, jimmi hendrix, you name it, we'd our own king in Phil. I don't think bono or anybody else would disagree that Phil was an unreal genius. So underappreciated at the time, if he was around today with modern technology, he would be so popular and an irish God
