The EU on Thursday agreed a fresh round of sanctions on Russia over the war in Ukraine, after complaints from hawkish eastern European leaders that some countries were trying to water them down. Diplomats said a compromise deal – thought to include targeting some 200 individuals – was reached on the sidelines of a leaders summit in Brussels and that the sanctions would be formally confirmed on Friday. eu countries need farsighted and matured leaders. the leaders now leading eu countries are immatured, emotional and impractical. they are running behind sanctions after sanctions which have no effect on russia. russian economy and currency are still strong. what is the purpose of imposing sanctions one after another? what will happen if they find no more sanctions to impose?

Consequences of those sanctions are: EU's crippling economy, manufacturers moving out of EU to US at a fast speed, and rapid deterioration in living standards. Basically, EU stabbed itself and then asked Russians whether they are scared.

The subtext of sanctions is that the EU will not make war on Russia, if only Russia will be peaceful.

If that is true, why didn't NATO accept Russia, when Russia asked to be accepted?
