Brian May - Backstage Interview (Live Aid 1985)

Queen performed at Live Aid in front of 72,000 people in Wembley Stadium, London on the 13th July, 1985. Here’s Brian May being interviewed backstage. The event was organised by Sir Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for the Ethiopian famine disaster. Broadcast across the world via one of the largest satellite link-ups of all time, the concerts were seen by around 40% of the global population.

1:33 He suddenly seems a bit embarassed about his shirt because of the interviewer's completely pointless remark, yet he chose to wear the very same one for the performance, didn't even take his backstage pass of. :-) I think he's just cool. Those casual looks the four of them rocked in the mid 80's concerts just fitted them so well.

Regardless of the actual outcome of all the funds raised and the politics of aid in Africa, the fact remains Bob Geldof created something special here. Fair play to him

Thanks for these backstage insight uploads, Live Aid. I watched the concert in 85 on tv and it was an awesome experience despite not being able to be there myself because I was too young at that time. 🥰
