✨“Earth turns to gold in the hands of the wise” -Rumi✨

✨👉Insight from California Institute of Earth Art and Architecture founder, Nader Khalili:
"There is a Sustainable Solution to Human Shelter, based on Timeless Materials (earth, water, air, and fire) and Timeless Principles (arches, vaults, and domes). Every man and woman should be able to build a shelter for his or her family with these universal elements, almost anywhere on the earth and other planets. These principles, interpreted into the simplest form of building technology have created emergency shelter which can become permanent houses, and which have passed strict tests and building codes.

Since 1975 we have been dedicated to researching and developing this low-cost, self-help, eco-friendly technology which can resist disasters, and to offer it to humanity. The only missing link is to educate humans how to use these timeless techniques, developed at Cal-Earth Institute, to fit their own culture and environment."

I grew up in Kenya Africa seeing earth / mud houses that were round shaped and thatched with grass. As modernisation came, those houses were seen as belonging to the poor people or backward people. I remember visiting my great grandma and how everything felt in harmony with nature. Now, after watching this video at 44 years of age, I kinda feel like we were duped by the so called modernisation.

Man this is an awesome concept. Can you imagine if they make these for all the people in the world. I would live in one no problem at all. This could work in all countries.

Nader Khalili may have passed away, but yet he still lives in our hearts, in his teachings, in every Superadobe build, in his students, and in his children, and in the history of The High Desert!

I have seen dozens of videos on earth/earth bag homes and this man definitely gave the most information and details that most videos leave out. Because of that, this video actually made me feel confident I myself could do this if I've got the people to help out!

This guy may never retire for there. He's so knowledgeable and passionate about the work being done there. Hell I'm sold on the idea and I was already sold before i saw the video!

Just think of all the homeless people that would appreciate a safe dome structure! How hard would it be to house the homeless?

Early irish monks lived in stone rooms shaped like these domes in coastal areas! Wooden buildings were more common but we can visit the stone ones all the wood is gone.

Visit this place in SoCal if you can. The principles in this type of building are so simple and yet elegant. They are not hard to build, are not costly, and appeal to the human spirit with their organic earthy shapes.

What a sweet, sweet, man. His heart is really into something that counts and is worthwhile. Helping the environment and people. People like him are the saints of the world.

I like the rugged look, nature, and the reverence for natural elements. And some sacred geometry.

Very nice departure from the tiny house venue. Thanks Alexis for being so open to new/old ideas.

If the bags were made of the same material as nursery fabric, they would withstand UV deterioration for up to 20 years without being grouted and limed. Just a thought.

Being a 61 year old gal, can no longer work because of arthritis and bursitis in my knees, hips, elbows ( and soon, my hands l'm afraid!!), l have very little money to do anything with like this, other then the smallest one, but thatd work for me! It'd be great to see them donate plans to people so they could build their own home!! Thanks for sharing this with us!!
