STIEBEL ELTRON, 100 years of HEAT PUMP
How is a heat pump designed and built? Are there real and concrete differences between high-end European manufacturers or Eastern manufacturers of heat pumps?
To find out I flew to the north-east of Germany, more precisely to Holzminden at the headquarters of Stiebel Eltron, one of the largest heat pump manufacturing companies in Europe which in 2023 closed with more than 1.5 billion in turnover alone for the world of Heat Pumps.

But when was Stiebel Eltron born?
The company was founded in 1924, so it has been operating and working hard in this sector for exactly 100 years. In 1976 it began to develop the world of Heat Pumps and in recent years it has grown exponentially to the point that in 2015 it inaugurated its new Energy Campus.
Costing 16.5 million euros, it is one of the greenest buildings in the world. The panels on the facade combined with the photovoltaic field on the roof reach 120 kW. Power that powers the two cascade geothermal heat pumps that heat and cool the building.
What are the goals of Stiebel Eltron??
Stiebel Technical Training, Alexander explains it to us: "We have tried to reorganize these things in a simpler way. The heat pump housings will be resized, reducing costs."
Stiebel is investing to expand production capacity for the electric future.
The ultimate goal? Produce 150,000 pieces in 2027, tripling production compared to 2023.
