To be fair, Grant Gustin as a person and him being naturally positive carried even weaker seasons. He was a perfect cast.

The same problem other CW shows had.
They simply didnt know when to end and just made new seasons.Same goes for Arrow. That wasnt Arrow anymore it was some kinda fighting drama.
Flash had too many of everything

Flash started off really strong - became more and more bogged down in ridiculousness, endless time travel plot devices, etc., etc.

They basically threw everything into season one. The writers approached it assuming they were only going to get one season and packed it with as much stuff that they wanted to do as they could. It made for a great first season. After that it was up and down but generally leaning on the positive side for the first five seasons and any time they went back to Reverse Flash, it was outstanding but by the end of the run you could tell that the budget had been slashed and they were running out of ideas (though the final season still has some stellar material, again involving Thawne).

Gustin took the bad writing like a champ he was a champion throughout the entire show

He should have been the flash in the movies. He has better acting chops than hes given credit for

they did the actor that played Ralph Dibny dirty, and later seasons making iris more important than Barry..

Glad Grant has such a positive mindset and I don't blame him for thinking that Flash had a couple of issues with consistency. The problem with the CW is that many of their shows ran for too long and were just whinging it towards the end.

The Flash was the9st popular in the Arrowverse, but unfortunately it lost it's momentum after season 3 and like Grant said it did have it's struggles but I still love the show ⚡️💖

The CW's worst mistake was forcing shows to run every single season for 22-23 episodes of 42 minutes each non-stop following an old TV formula (Supernatural being the exception). Shows need to take a break.
Game of Thrones, Cobra Kai, Stranger Things take over a year of a break but continue with few but strong seasons instead of so many weak ones.
Not to menton running so many shows at once that the writers could not keep consistency in storylines and leaving plot-holes.
I believe taking a year long or more of a break could have let the shows coexist with the movies.
But who knows, that's every single big company that sees the success in one department and wants to mimic that formula with their own bigger budget.
It never made sense to me that WB would compete against the interest of its own products and characters.

He is just like Barry! Always optimistic, always trying to see the bright side of things. He was always perfect for the role

The flash was incredibly good at the beginning that I still can’t believe how weak it was towards the finale. It was like watching two totally different shows.

I don't blame him for thinking that. The CW, if anything, keeps shows going too long.

Pandemic and poor writing was too much for this show to keep going, forever grateful for the memories!

Season one was a fantastic start and definitely the best. Once everybody started getting powers it got a bit silly even for a superhero show

I don't think anyone really mentioned this, but I think the mistake the show made was that everything needed to always be BIGGER. The stakes, the powers, the drama. They didn't realize that saying "No really, this next villain is EVEN FASTER than the last fastest villain" really loses its impact the fourth time you do it. The fact that Gustin was able to play it straight despite the ridiculousness is really a testament to him as an actor.

Honestly, I thought Grant was and is still a better Flash than what they used for the Movies..

Honestly I Get What Grant Gustin Is Saying When I started watching Squidbillies In 2007 I wasn't expecting 13 freaking seasons I was competing with ICarly and Wizards Of Waverly Place didn't expect to be the last show standing but Disney revived Wizards and ICarly had a brief revival on Paramount + If Adult Swim washed their hands of this IP It wouldn't mind It at all

Solid shows that sadly all eventually suffered from expanding the core cast way too much. You could tell once they stared having more and more regulars the budget was being taken away from everything else.

Great to see Amunet Black reformed and burying the hatchet with Barry
