It is always amazing to visit the brilliant Team Tieu head coach, Muay Thai Grand Prix founder and all round über individual Philip Tieu at one of his many outstanding Gym Box locations in London 🤯🔥😍

Philip is one of the many exceptional coaches featured in my upcoming second book in the Evolution of Martial Arts in Combat Sports series. His chapter sees him going over some of his favourite ways to set up knock outs in Muay Thai!

I know you are going to love it 🤯🔥😍

In the meantime though, enjoy this clip featuring him as he (alongside the equally outstanding Evan Jays) goes over one way he likes to coach countering the left body kick whilst fighting or sparring. Always exceptional coaching from Philip!!

Make sure you get following him, Evan, Team Tieu and the phenomenal Muay Thai Grand Prix across all social media today!

Is throwing that right before your foot hits the ground a great thing? Genuinely curious as to what the best tactics are

the boy with long hair has to keep the tough tips straight when blocking with his shin, otherwise there is a risk of breaking if he keeps his tough tips straight but his muscles protect his shin! That was one of the first things my couch said to me 20 years ago

Things to consider, the leg check should be turned out more. Pointy shin to pointy shin. The distance was all over the place, when holding or throwing, the distance should be consistent and purposefully done. The strikers balance was off, you even see in the slow down version he stumbles. Lastly he drops both hands when he kicks, opposite hand should be close to your face when you throw.

You can’t throw a punch and a kick at the same time. You’re gonna get ragdolled. Slow it down and do it right. And get a damn haircut
