Fifty years ago there was some friends of my younger brother trying to figure out why they couldn't get black powder to explode when they poured it out on the ground. I put some of it in a plastic container and make it fuse by impregnating some powder into heavy paper. It took them a while to figure out why it exploded for me and not for them.

It's not in a confined space. The flame does not push the bullet out tge barrel. The build up of gasses does. It's why air rifles work. It's all about the psi.

Both of them are gunpowder first one he lights up is smokeless powder the second one is black powder giant cloud of white smoke is the black powder they're both for guns

Or to say it more simple they are both low explosives and not high explosives.

Close but inaccurate, The reason it burns instead of pops is no one wants 30000 psi and chamber enriched propellant. So we standardized grain size and fuel to oxidizer ratios. You can with KClO4 80 20 or 80 5 10 5 make powder grains that go pop instead of fwoosh. Modern powders are another beast entirely. but are safer and more consistent. It is possible to make black powder mixes so volatile the atmospheric pressure is enough to get a pop.

It's called deflicates it burns and produces a gas rapidly. Contain that gas, then it explodes.

It’s not called muzzleloader powder its called Black powder and first one you lit up is called smokeless powder

So WTF is muzzle loading powder? Because I have a Cartridge firing Black powder rifle. and like four pistols that shoot black powder cartridge and they do not muzzle load.
