Renowned basketball figure Sheryl Swoopes recently addressed her controversial remarks aimed at collegiate basketball sensation Caitlin Clark, conceding to having erred in her assessment. Swoopes, a three-time WNBA Most Valuable Player, disclosed that she engaged in a constructive dialogue with Clark, facilitated by LSU's Angel Reese. Reflecting on the incident during the Baylor versus Texas Tech game broadcast, Swoopes acknowledged her misstep in misrepresenting Clark's collegiate tenure, clarifying that she had wrongly stated it was her fifth year when in fact, it was her fourth. Expressing admiration for Clark's contributions to the sport, Swoopes extended her respect and acknowledged the significance of their exchange, leaving it to Clark's discretion to disclose further details. The dialogue between the two athletes ensued following Swoopes' previous remarks on Gilbert Arenas' YouTube show, where she inaccurately portrayed Clark's statistics and progression in the sport. Swoopes' comments sparked widespread criticism and prompted Iowa fans to express their disapproval, evident in the "Don't Be A Sheryl" shirts worn at a recent game. Despite the backlash, Swoopes remains optimistic about Clark's future in the WNBA, albeit with tempered expectations.

She is mistaken if she thinks we believe her.

Sheryl’s initial comments and alleged conversation with Caitlin after the fact and her current retractions are just a classic representation of a public figure who spoke their true feelings regarding someone or something and realized they overstepped the boundaries of what is ethically correct and now are trying to calm the waters with a fake “apology”. In fact, nowhere does it make note that she “apologizes for her comments” or that she regrets what she said. Akin to Will Smith physically ruining his public stature and career, Sheryl has forever tarnished her reputation and public perception. Keep wearing the “Don’t Be A Sheryl” shirts, people! It’ll be a constant reminder to her of what she’s recently accomplished. 👍🏻

Why would she need to have some other college basketball player facilitate the conversation? This is dumb

Its terrible the disrespect this young lady is getting especially from current and former players. Swoops was wrong in so many ways and to be honest if i was clark i would of never taken thst call. I saw the interview on Gilbert Arenas show it was terrible and embarrassing.

Swoopes taking her anger out on C.C. when her anger should be directed toward her hair dresser.

Swoopes HATES CC so much...she just gave Angel Reese the longest hug of all time after she beat CC's team in their 3rd head-to-head. She just inarguably hates the young woman, & it's the weirdest pettiest thing I've ever seen in sports, & I'm old...I'm nearly 50.

When somebody shows you something about them, believe it the first time because its their true face.

If Caitlin Clark was black, they would have said it’s the second coming of the messiah.
