I was pretty excited when I first saw this product, but since reading the comments below I will now look for an alternative.

I already have a garmin fish finder in the boat and just want to use this as a chartplotter. Will it work without a transducer and how much are maps for the UK?

So which unit do I want for deep water fishing? I hear they are only good up to 30meters?

I bought this unit for my sail boat July 28/2020 based on the recommendation from this video, against my original intuition to buy a Garmin with far more features. Boy what a mistake I made. The map software made by Raymarine crashes the unit. Customer service acknowledges this. I was on a FUCKING island with no internet or stores to buy Micro SD cards for upgrading the system. In the year 2020 if you cant make and sell chart plotter for navigation purpose that works out of the box, then why in god's hell are you still in business??? If Apple sold laptops or phones with an OS that crashed out of the box they would go out of business.

How can a unit, at this pricepoint, not offer "Autorouting".
It's 2023, and it give you the "birds way" to the waypoint - in a unit for 7000kr (700USD).
That's horrible!

And there's no way that this is a hardware-based reason, as computing the route requires bare to minium.
I've had mine for 4 months (counting the days it was on land) - and already looking at selling it to buy GARMIN.

What a disappointment from Raymarine.
