Demystifying International Addresses

International addresses can seem scary and confusing when you are only used to working with US addresses, but they don't have to be! We will build on what you already know about working with US addresses to get you comfortable working with international addresses. By the end of this presentation you will understand how working with international addresses compares with handling US addresses and, more importantly, how to make use of them even when they are in unfamiliar languages and scripts. Together we will open up this important gateway to international fund raising, recruiting and alumni development!
Philip Ljubicich has spent the last 14 months designing and building software to parse, validate, and geocode international addresses for Melissa Data, a data quality tools company based in Orange County California. Philip started his technology career in 1987 working on operating systems for Microsoft. In 1999 he served as co-founder and CTO for a successful Internet startup which was acquired by Metro One Telecommunications in 2001. Philip worked at Metro One as VP of Content Development and later as the president for Metro One's M1 Data Division. Philip joined Melissa Data in 2009 and currently serves as the Directory of Research and Development for their Seattle office. His credits include a number of technology patents related to telecom and data processing. He holds a BA in Mathematics from Reed College and a MA in Organization Psychology from Antioch University Seattle.
