Losing Jimmy Butler Still HAUNTS The Sixers

Though it's been more than three years since Jimmy Butler's brief time in Philly came to an end, the ramifications of his exit still linger in the city of brotherly love.

The twists and turns of those last three years have led the Sixers to the present, with James Harden now helping Joel Embiid run the show, but the team further from contention than they were the day Butler walked.

As a raptors fan. In 2019 Jimmy scared me way more then the other sixers players (including embed, I know he’s a beast but we had is number that year)
When they let Jimmy walk my brain exploded.

During the playoffs Jimmy Buckets was 1st in every major advanced stat. Luka and Giannis were 2nd. He is a superstar when it matters most which is the "real season"/playoffs. Someone get this man some help.

Embid talks about him with the emotional sadness of a long lost love.

I thought "keeping Ben Simmons" is the problem, not "losing Jimmy Butler".
Jimmy Butler is a hard worker and deserves more success.

The moment he left I knew we were never going to win anything.

The story between the 76ers and Jimmy had a little more substance than just that 'controlling Jimmy' segment on JJ's podcast. During the 2019 run, Jimmy (and others) had differing ideas from head coach Brett Brown on how to run the offense. No one would step up and make the argument, so Jimmy did. According to Jimmy and confirmed by JJ, the interaction was not out of line. Yet reports surfaced almost immediately that Jimmy was once again being difficult and defying coaching as he had done in Chicago and Minnesota.

Couple that with the stuff around "control Jimmy" and he knew the writing was on the wall with Philly.

Embid and Jimmy should still be teammates but Philly made things difficult. Enjoy Harden.

Jimmy Buckets is the real deal! As a Rockets fan I wish Houston would've traded for him back when he was in Minny. They were offering them something like 4 first round picks and Minny was thinking awful hard about it! That was before we traded Chris Paul and we still had Capella. Add Jimmy to that woulda been one hell of a team! But then again, Jimmy ain't gonna put up with someone of Harden's caliber not even trying on defense. Jimmy would tell em straight up how it is!

If Butler stays in Miami I could see Embiid ditching Philly for the Heat eventually

As a Raptors fan, I saw first-hand how valuable Jimmy Butler was to the Sixers. As soon as they let him walk, I knew they were screwed. I thought they’d still be good, but I immediately felt they had no chance of winning a championship. Jimmy Butler been a terrific acquisition for the Heat. A leader, star, a playoff performer and the kind of hard worker that Pat Riley loves. The Process has failed I could not be happier!

As a Warriors fan Jimmy buckets and embid scared me. 76ers definitely chose Harris over Butler because Harris is an over paid role player. I don’t get why he doesn’t get the same slander Wiggins got because Harris doesn’t contribute to winning.
