She's been caught three times whilst driving under the influence so she probably does it on a regular basis, more than likely with her kids in the car, so I don't really understand why the judge is being so lenient to her - she needs some jail time to teach her there are consequences to her actions

Pregnant and drinking like a fish? No regard for human life. In Army Resp. Therapy school we learned of fetal alcohol syndrome. Fast forward many years to working in a PICU and there was a teenager male patient of mine with FAS. It was very sad, he could control his impulses/behavior due to FAS, so his life is ruined. I think he was in Foster care so who knows where he is now.
