Top Sandro Symeoni cover x IRMA records

In the mid-90s IRMA with its sub-label La Douce launched the musical genre Cocktail Music with artists such as Montefiori Cocktail, Sam Paglia, Monsieur Blumenberg among others. At the same time he began publishing obscure musical pieces from the world of Italian soundtracks, the primary source of inspiration for the Cocktail genre. For one of this compilation entitled Suono Libero we asked permission to use an image that we really liked, taken from an album that contained some songs from the selection, entitled Under Pompelmo by Giuliano Sorgini. There were no liner notes on the artwork but the record company and publisher of the songs gave us permission. The design was by Sandro Symeoni. Someone warned him of our use and he called Irma very angry. Instead, the phone call turned into the beginning of a friendship/collaboration with what was one of the greatest (if not the greatest) Italian film painter. These are the covers that we then made later from his works.
