Groceries For $6.25 Per Week! (Extreme Emergency Food Budget)

Yes, it is possible! You could even feed yourself for 2 weeks for just under $10 with these 4 pantry staples: Flour, Beans, Oil, and Salt.

If you want to break out of the cycle of poverty, the ability to have a stocked pantry and cook for yourself is essential. (Or having a government that acknowledges food is a human right and makes food a public good.) This meal plan might not be the most exciting, but it will pay off in the long run.

Believe it or not, you can still make a variety of foods with just these 4 ingredients.

I ask for protein powder samples at supplement stores. I usually get like six. I dumpster dive i get lots of fruits and vegetables. I go to community gardens. I get kale, collars greens and zucchinis. Lots of tomatoes. Food bank I get lots of beans, pasta and rice. At the end I eat for free.❤🇨🇦❤🇨🇦

Re-watching this vid, in Nov 2021. Things have gotten so expensive that I've started doing things from scratch again, since I'm on a really low fixed budget now. Thank you so much. Just the tortilla vid alone is gonna save me so much money. Sigh. Put money aside for your retirement, kids. You just never know what will happen.

Yes, finally someone shows how to build up the pantry. Each week the meals will get better.

you can cut the tortillas into 4 and fry in oil to make chips and dip in beans or add some cheap salsa from walmart.

You could also start a sourdough with the flour and bake some bread.

A simple free way to add nutritious food is to learn to forage. Just about everyone can recognize dandelions. The entire plant is edible.

Flour and rice, oil always. I would.make dumplings when I was on a budget. Stuffed with the cheap bag of frozen mixed veggies a bit of meat or tofu. and it would last a super long time and be filling. I could eat for several meals and got less board of it.

Another great video! I'm always encouraging people to swap out expensive meals with at least one cheap, simple meal a day. You can save so much money!

At Walmart, this list is $5.54 and a pound of cheap bacon pieces is $2.98. That extra amount spent on the bacon would make it so those beans were actually tasty. Still less than $10 and tasty enough to make the effort worth it.

Hello, new subscriber. I loved this video. I know there are many out there who spend a ton of money on fast food and meals outside the home. Cutting these out entirely and cooking everything at home and bringing your lunch to work will save you thousands of dollars a year. How do I know this? Because my family did this, and we saved thousands of dollars.

In season fruit is pretty cheap too! Bananas are a fantastic value.

I would have spent a few cents more and bought celery. It is the cheapest most versatile green vegetable and can last in the fridge for weeks. It is even often available by the stalk.

2lb brown rice (3, 284 calories) $2.00 +
1lb lentils (678 calories) $1.00 +
1lb pinto beans (1, 588 calories) $1.00 +
1lb generic salt (0 calories) $.59 +
48oz generic vegetable oil 🤢 (12, 048 calories) $1.84 =
$6.43 (17, 598 calories) so left over oil and salt. I prefer more variety in beans and brown rice. So $10-6.43= $3.57 I have spent $.18 more then you. I can live with this.*

*However, I would cheat by foraging for edible garden weeds for greens. If I found pepper packeds at work, home they would go.

When I was a single parent we lived on tuna croquettes and mac in cheese. Can tuna was 55cents and I always had onions and breading, and the box mac was usually only 30cents yeah that was 26 years ago, but still it fed dinner and lunches for me and my son and we loved it. We also did pasta with little meat and sauces, eggs for breakfast and I would run to burger king and get 2 rodeo burgers that were a dollar each for a quick 2 dollar lunch on "splurge" days.
