Today, I am going to discuss 7 different methods of cleaning up your #Linux machine. Out of seven, five methods will work for most of the Linux OS whether it's #Commandline or desktop environment but last two are specific to #GUI users.

When you are using your system for a long time, it starts building up unnecessary files and packages that need to be removed to cleanup your disk space. And this is more important if you are using GUI based system. So, here are the seven methods I will discuss in this video.

1. Remove unnecessary applications and packages
2. Remove unwanted dependencies and library files
3. Cleanup system cache built by apt
4. Audit and cleanup log files
5. Manage snap packages and it's database
6. Remove unwanted thumbnail images
7. Cleanup trash folder

And here is the link to download the snap's versions cleanup script written by Ubuntu Engineer.

I cannot thank you enough for this. Was very stressed, my file system had virtually no space. I had 1.7Gb of logs that I deleted which was enough to boot linux without the login loop.

This is a very important situation, where some Brainiac can devise an app to embed into Linux Mint so it can be an automatic part of this wonderful OS.. It's crazy for experts to assume or expect "ordinary" people to suddenly embark on trying to use commands in dos or whatever. We all need to not be governed by those terrible twins, Microsoft and Google who OWN us ALL.
You Developers are very clever and I applaud what you are working on, but please understand that most people are forced to live a life of anguish, when we would all rather not be spending days and weeks living in very stressful things which could be so easily cured by those developers who MUST Know how this could be done?>?

I can’t believe I had 3.9G in journal logs, hopefully this should get me out of the login loop now.

Hi. I did the following steps:

1. sudo apt-get update
2. sudo apt-get upgrade -y
3. sudo apt-get autoremove
4. sudo apt-get autoclean
5. sudo apt-get clean
6. sudo rm -rf ~/ .cache/thumbnails/*

in linux mint cinnamon and my home screen thumbnails and files in folders in my Home are all deleted. How can I restore these now deleted files back on my computer? I need HELP as soon as you can. Thank you, sir.
