What PS5 game do you want to see get a VR mode? And why is it the nonexistent PS5 port of Gravity Rush?

It's hard to see the effect of foveated rendering?... I think that's the point of it.

getting that kind of performance wirelessly will cost alot more and not as stable

Corny thumbnail used to drive clicks. It’s one wire.

The Verge’s worst article title, ever…. focusing on something that is CLEARLY not possible at flippin $550. It’s not like Sony is behind the competition in wireless technology omitting the ability to go wireless. High fidelity wireless VR is simply not viable in 2023. While I agree it should be discussed as a talking point in a review, it’s astounding to think that VR’s dramatic push into the future is being pigeon holed into an unavoidable drawback.

I went from a vive, to vive pro, to wireless quest 2, back to vive pro. When I got a quest 2 the wireless experience was an eye opener and I loved it. But the drawbacks grew tiresome and now I'm back to tethered vive pro. I for one feel a wired headset is not a deal breaker.

I'm very hyped to Play VR exclusives like Horizon, Gran Turismo 7 and RE8. Gaming experiences not found anywhere else. Great times ahead.

Idiotic thumbnail. If it was wireless the price would be much higher or they would have to drop a lot of the features.

What a strange thing to get hung up on lol. Take away the cable and it would be double in price.

Everyone: oh cool, just one wire to use the power of the PS5. The Verge: oH nO wIrE bAd

A bit of a weird thing to focus on. It has a cable for good reason. Because wireless VR just doesn't cut it. And if your tripping on your cable, you need to position it better. It's plenty long enough, and with the original PSVR cable dangling behind me and trailing off to the side, I can say that it never once became noticeable, let alone became a problem like stepping on it or even tripping over it (sounds dangerous).

They look way better than Facebook’s vr set

Half Life Alyx should be ported here.

It's one of the very best games designed for VR.

I can’t wait for mine to arrive. Technology just isn’t there for wireless vr that is affordable and high quality. Buying a standalone headset right now just means you either get really crappy games, or you have to pay thousands of dollars for a heavy and uncomfortable headset.

I've always thought with the onset of the Metaverse that now would be a perfect time for Sony to bring back Playstation Home and knock Meta Horizons out of the water. It almost seems too perfect an opportunity for Sony to do this

You can't get high fidelity graphics wirelessly. there just isn't enough throughput to get 4K and HDR data streams. That is why it is wired. Does The Verge not even understand tech at all?

Ghost of Tsushima needs to be adapted to VR.

bit confused by the glowing review vs the negative thumbnail, but ah well. Not sure the wire is such a negative as you make out, it would be twice as expensive and half as good without it.

Great review. Thanks. The lack of metaverse is a selling point for me—I’m one of those weirdos that doesn’t want my personal life monetized by Mr. Zuckerberg.

I shut this off at her calling Horizon a "robot fighting simulator."
