We REALLY need a Encanto series on disney plus, it would be perfect to give all the characters more screen time!!!
If it was a movie sequel i think it would only have the same 90 minute time limit :(

You know what I would love to watch? A pequel about Bruno and his adolescence/childhood. I would love to see his interactions with his sisters, his mother and the villagers.

I like the idea that like the song says, "You're More Than Just Your Gifts" that the images on the doors will reflect other attributes than their powers. Also, the pictures on the front of the doors originally showed the ages the characters were at the time that the Original Casita crumbled. Despite getting the door when they were 5 and only Antonio's door showed him as a child; maybe the new ones will be the images everyone at different ages.

i read somewhere that in the books (which are canon), their doors actually arent blank but are redesigned to reflect their personalities instead of their gifts. it might be because of that?

Or a series about the triplets' past (growing up, Bruno's ostracizing, Julieta and Pepa falling in love and getting married etc)

So technically, bruno wouldn't have to look into the future like he's done before. With this new start of their powers, each each of them can choose what scope their powers can cover. Hopefully, the staff will be able to come up with some interesting ideas about this

It appears from the scene that the Gifted Madrigals still have their gifts; Antonio still has a communion with the animals, Luisa is strong again, Isabella can still spontaneously grow vegetation, Pepa can still control the weather... if anything, they appear to have a more flexible control over them, now that they've grown past their rigidity. Interestingly, while the doors on the second level aren't committed, the front door includes Felix and Augustin as Madrigals in their own right. I interpret the second floor not as an ambiguous approach to the gifts, but as a recognition that the gifts are not what define them as Madrigals (Luisa's door might include the same room as before, but she is no longer only identified as "Strong Luisa").

I also think that the new doors not having family members' names on them is a way of allowing future children to get their gifts and making it work with the plot, in a "everyone's gifts are now just a thing the people have, and the doors will be given to the next children

This makes so much more sense as I wondered about Pepa dancing in snow. Her gifts are influenced by her emotions so, I think, snow would indicate her feeling cold towards a situation or towards someone. But, she looked happy and was dancing with her husband. This makes so much more sense!

i just think that because abuela kept seeing her family as only worth for their gifts and nothing else, the new doors are now blank as to not reinforce that. not necessarily that they have new powers, just that they're more than their gifts and deserve to be seen as such.
