A lot of you have been asking why we decided to stop full-time travelling and we wanted to share our honest thoughts. We've been in Vancouver for a few months and have a new-found appreciation for travel now that we're back in Canada. Even though we've decided not to travel full-time right now, we're planning for one trip each month and will keep making travel videos wherever we go!

Been traveling myself for 7 years on and off and eventually I became exhausted too. As for everything, balance is the key I guess. Glad you are still on YouTube, best of luck Fel and Wes!

Great share guys. I have been traveling since 2007. I noticed that when I slow travel I am happier. I don't really have a definition for slow travel, but if I spend 2 or more weeks in the same airbnb, I feel more settled and happy. If I spend a week or less in a place, and I do that for multiple places in a row, I start to feel less attachment and excitement about each place. It is like when you date multiple people at once, you never really feel connected to any of them. But if you slow down and study one place more carefully, you enjoy it more somehow. Slow traveling is more intimate somehow.

I think this is the right decision for you guys. When I lived abroad and travelled I also stopped appreciating the sights and beauty of travelling as much. Being back in Canada, now it's all I pine for. You guys are so lucky and I hope you guys realize it! I can only look forward to travelling in the summer, and even then my husband can't take more than a few weeks off work. I guess it's time to rethink some things...All the best to you! Can't wait for your next trip :)

Very wise words guys!!!! This video is very helpful to us as we are hoping to start traveling full-time early next year. Looks like we are doing the roll reversal to you, as we both have professional jobs, a mortgage and travel monthly to make our videos. We are looking forward to the change but know it isn't going to be easy. Respect your opinion and hopefully see you on your travels one day - congrats to your new life!! Glad you have found something that works for you. Adam & Corinne🙂🙂

We traveled full-time for about a year, and also found that ultimately, having a home base is very important! Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and your recent work is fantastic! :)

Really great viewpoint, I didn’t see that coming.

Thanks for this honest perspective on full time travel. I watch a lot of travel vlogs and often wonder how it feels to be living out of a suitcase. I've come to realize that the travel vlogger lifestyle wouldn't work for me because I do like to be settled in one place, but love the adventure of traveling to a new place. In a previous lifetime, I was married to a video producer--he worked all the time, weekends, nights and recorded video during the day. We didn't see much of each other. I really loved the Loire series and think you two are a great couple to follow. I look forward to your next travel series!!

So happy to watch this video! Very excited for the videos coming up. And I totally get what you’re saying about full-time travel. A home base can feel so good. It’s nice to have a space that’s “home” and not having to pack up and move someplace new every month or two must be a relief. I’m so glad the business in Canada is going well! I’ve always so appreciated that your channel feels so genuine and honest—I never feel like you’re making videos in order to sell something. That’s so rare. Okay this comment just became a rambling mess so I apologize. But sending lots of love your way!

Thanks for the update ... it's been great having you in the area and hoping to see you again soon. Make sure you price out round trip tickets, rather than one-way, since often they are less expensive. Then you just no-show the second ticket. Just my 2 cents 😉

Growing and realizing is a wonderful thing. It's an adventure to watch the two of you flourish. Here's to the realization that special is only so when it's not everyday or ordinary.
