15.02: This crazy stuff is called " sülze" in German. Pork Gelantine with pieces of meat and sausages.
Together with some oil, vinegar and onions its pretty popular in the hot summer time

I do like the shopping blogs but you should do the markets especially the morning markets where the fresh fruit and veg are a lot cheaper than supermarkets.Supermarkets are good for a lot of things but not everything as you will know having travelled like myself. I chose supermarkets for essentials like milk bread some sauces dry pasta noodles and rice. Water is a strange thing there as to me water is water so I always go for the cheapest lol

I'm curious if it's easy to determine what foods are gluten free? If you remember in Canada some items have the government approved symbol on the packaging. Other times you need to study the ingredients.

Actually this supermarket is quite good they have most things there compared to some of the markets in my country
