'People first' for PM Modi: Fuel excise duty slashed, LPG subsidy | Centre's 5 announcements

Centre slashed excise duty on petrol by a record Rs 8 per litre and that on diesel by Rs 6 per litre to give relief to consumers battering under high fuel prices that have also pushed inflation to a record high. The excise duty cut will translate into a reduction of Rs 9.5 a litre on petrol in Delhi and Rs 7 a litre in diesel after taking into account its impact on other levies. Announcing the duty cut through tweets, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also said the government will give Rs 200 per cylinder subsidy to poor who got cooking gas connection under the Ujjwala scheme, for 12 cylinders in a year to help ease some of the burden arising from cooking gas rates rising to record levels. Saving is also a kind of earning. According to me, India should take following measures to maintain the expenses:
1. Complete the projects on time. eg: estimated cost of DFCCIL project was 30000 crore but due to delays cost has escalated by 70000 crore rupees.
2. Privatisation of BSNL, PSBs and other loss making entities which can be handled by private players. Eg. IDBI Bank was making loss of 1 billion dollars per year but after lic takeover it's making profit of 2500 crore/year.
3. Reduce govt non essential expenditure, allowances of MP, MLAs. Eg: Govt should try to avoid purchase like high cost airplane for PM.
