ZOOM LiveTrak L-8 - Unboxing and first look

In this video, I'm taking a first look at my new mixer/audio interface, the ZOOM LiveTrak L-8.

The LiveTrak L-8 is a hybrid mixer/audio interface, meaning it can record up to 8 tracks individually, and it compatible with Mac/PC and iPad/iPhone via the Lightning to USB adapter.

In future videos, I will be putting the LiveTrack L-8 to the test to see if it really can become my go-to solution for music, live streaming and audio for videos.

@ Pete Johns: Love your videos and what you've shown on the Zoom LiveTrak 8. I wanted to ask if you know how I might send the audio out to a home stereo receiver properly? How would you do this. I have a stereo 1/4" balanced cable to stereo RCA cable. I have two of the monitor outs to send the output to my stereo but noticed that the speakers don't play the audio very loud. Any clues? How do you send out the signal to your speakers?

Hi Pete, w the L-8, if I have two connected PA speakers and one stage monitor, would I use one of the XLR outs to go to the mains, and possibly TRS headphone monitor connection to go to the stage monitor?

Hello Sir. I want to connect my Sony a6400 or canon m50 into my zoom livetrak L8 for video podcast and recording to camera sd card? Also was wondering should I record straight into Lumafusion or GarageBand or Ferrite? Can I use my iPad or should I use MacBook Pro? If so, how? Also, If I wanted to hear the playback through my monitors, how do I connect them? Please Help! Thank You!

Love this L-8. Love your songs also. I have a question that may be self evident, but does the interface on the L-8 perform as good as the regular interface you recommend. And if so, is there any reason to have both? Thanks much.

I have 2 questions :
1) when using it as an audio interface with an Ipad, can the L-8 be powered with a powerbank or USB power supply and avoid using AA batteries? If yes, does it requiere a usb-c hub?
2) Since Input 7 and 8 or mono, why is there 7L, 7R, 8L and 8R available as inputs?

Hey Pete, when using it in audio interface mode, how's the latency with a guitar, compared to the Stienberg? How's the CPU handling when recording multiple simultaneous tracks, again, compared to the Steinberg? These units are still new enough that there aren't a lot of real world testimonials yet.
