Did PDR for a few years. $2000 grand a day when you get hail jobs. The prevalence of aluminum hoods now, though, definitely made it more challenging. Would recommend as a career if you're someone who likes to work with your hands and focus on one thing until it's done. Very satisfying occupation. On this dent, you only want glue at the bottom of the dent first pull, or you build up the shoulders and strengthen the dent. Good training video, but they definitely made it harder than it should be because of the first pull.

You can go to the junkyard and get hail damaged hoods and fenders for cheap or sometimes even free. I trained like that. Left the industry due to it being flooded

Wow same spot I'm trying to fix. From a mad man punched my car there. And multiple other spots. Insurance gonna pay for my PDR tools lol. And start my journey through your training videos. 💪

I had my truck at a body shop to get a side mirror replaced, courtesy of the other guy's insurance. They took it back, did their thing, and brought it out front again... with a new deep little dent in the middle of the driver's door. Hold up, this is a problem. Shop manager said it couldn't have happened here, but then gently touched the bottom of the dent with his thumbnail and lifted a tiny flake of white paint from my dark blue truck. He went back and talked to everyone; turned out the new car-wash kid had banged my door against something painted white by accident, and hoped nobody would notice. Their PDR guy made the dent disappear like it was never there, not a trace. Magic. (I hope the car wash kid didn't lose his job - it was a teaching moment, not a firing one.)

Use smaller tabs...
If you use a tab bigger than or the same size of the dent you're lifting metal you dont want lifted...
The purple hex tabs are small, but pull very well.

As a metallurgist I figured a body guy would know that every time you change the shape of metal it either stretches or contracts . If you hammer it it thins out and stretches to cover more surface area . Like a knife if you hammer it it will thin out and become longer and wider . The panels on your car do the same thing so be careful overworking a panel with dent repairs .
