This was extremely helpful. Thanks for doing this! I'm trying to setup a 2nd layer for a Colemak layout, and QMK says to put full layouts in the lower levels. So I have L0 with QWERTY, L1 with Colemak, L2 with my function keys, but can't seem to find how to use one or the other full time without losing the ability to switch back (unless I sacrifice a 3rd key, L-alt or something). Is there a resource or example out there of what this would look like in the configurator. The QMK keymap section defines every key but doesn't really give a example of this.

i am currently trying to flash a tada68.. I read that you can jsut reset the keyboard, delete the old flash.bin from the drive then copy the new bin into it. With the qmk configurator I want to switch the y and z because I am used to the german keyboard layout and add the special character äöü with the Any key but keep the rest in the english layout. The special character work just fine but switching y and z doesn't work, also my tada somehow came with a german layout and the new bin doesn't seem to change that either. So the only thing happening after putting the new flash.bin into my drive is that y and z change places to the english layout (which i do not want) and the rest stays in the german layout. This is really awkward and quite frustrating.

A little note if you are using TMK previously, you will need to uninstall the existing driver first, e.g. ATm32U4DFU. If not, you would receive error "dfu-programmer: no device present" when flashing. This happened to me when I'm trying QMK on my KBParadise V60 Type R while previously I'm using TMK.

Do you know how can i change the keycode of a shifted keycode?
For example:
LSHIFT(;) is :
i want LSHIFT(;) is €
only with macros?

Great work! I am trying to get a key to register a standard ansi keycode eg. 'k' when tapped but when holded register something else. Is it possible to make this happen in config.qmk.fm or do I have to code it? Furthermore can I register a special character eg. 'ά ' or a combo of keys eg. 'a+b+c' when I longpress my key?

THANK YOU SO MUCH! One question. My keyboard has the Fn key set to one page of commands already. Is there a way to make it so holding both Fn and Ctrl, Alt, or shift allows input on other pages?

@MechMerlin - what if the keyboard that I am trying to use is not in the on the list? I am trying to use a Chimera ergo 42, there is a Chimera ergo on the list but the layout is different. How do I get the layout in the configurator?

Hi, noob question from a really mech keyboard noob builder (I preordered my first HS board, the HS60 v3). My board will have an ISO-IT layout, but when I click on the keys or try to drag and drop the keys in place the number row appears different from the original ISO-IT layout (for example, shift+2 is " on my keyboard, but the configurator displays an @), and some keys are missing, like "alt gr", right control... does this will affect the final result or is dependent on the language I'll choose in the OS?

Will flashing your keyboard firmware allow you to use buttons that arnt available? for example I have the redthunder K50 could I then do a permanent remap of the enter key? I want to be able to use this keyboard for other devices to.
