Eric, thanks for the video. But if you continue to handle your My Book Live like it's a brick, that's exactly what it will become. If you value your data, always handle your hard disk drive with care. If you have to physically move the device while it is in operation, handle it with even greater care. Otherwise, open an account with a good data recovery specialist in advance, have lots of extra cash laying around and cross your fingers.

Cheers for the review man. Looks to be what i need. Thinkin of getting one cheap on amazon. Does it work the same on windows?, as in opening network it will just show up there ?

hi first of all i am sorry for terrible my english. i would like to know, can i use my book live with connect ethernet port to pc. i mean i don t want to connect to my network i have to see only me ? it is possible

seems like the part you had to install a software for it.  It doesn't work just by plugging in like you did.  Be thorough when trying to make a video.

tested some time ago My Book 1 TB - transfer speed was below terrible. Upon request to WD support I got reply that speed is very limited because of weak processor used in device. DO NOT BUY IT unless you are fine with transfer speed about 2-3 Mb/sec
