How to write Epic Hybrid Trailer Music Percussion

In this edited live stream, we are going to take a look at how to write epic hybrid trailer music percussion.

In case you are struggling with writing epic hybrid percussive lines, loops and phrases, tend to see it as a string arrangement. Use the low hits and booms sparse while you add up more pattern-like lines for the mid-frequency instruments. last but not least, use the high-frequency instruments like bongos or djembes to create pulse, speed, and excitement.

I noticed Daniel Beijbom uses a 'white noise hit' with his percussion hits like this, but I'm not sure exactly what it does. Do you know anything about that method? I'm guessing perhaps it adds some high end to the hits but also don't know what he uses to create the white noise or what it sounds like isolated.
