A lot of the games that claimed the top spots are from dormant franchises that fans are hoping to revitalize.

This survey was a little less, "what capcom IP do you like?" and a lot more, "what capcom IP would you like to see a remake/sequel to?"

For those surprised Dino Crisis popularity seemingly exploded here, it's because on Twitter there was essentially a collaboration with the Resident Evil community to vote for Dino Crisis so they could get a shot at a remake or something new.

Seeing Capcom VS, Viewtiful Joe, and Megaman X place so low in the "where IP Capcom" list but seeing the universal outcry for refreshing old IP made up for it.

This is why I love Community surveys, my favorite memory of these things has got to be when the Fire Emblem community all voted for a NPC known as the Gatekeeper beating Marth in the polls and got added to the mobile game.

With Darkstalkers and Dino Crisis, they are not very well known. I didn’t learn of them until this year! HOWEVER, once you tell someone the concept of them on paper then everyone is so onboard. An RE style horror with Dinosaurs instead of zombies? Take my money. A cartoonish but mature fighting game with horror characters? Take my money. Those concepts are moneymakers, it’s just been so long with no new entries that most people aren’t aware of them, even though they are so appealing. If those games had no legacy and didn’t exist until right now, they would be just as popular because of their concept. Modern Capcom would crush new entries in both those franchises, and I hope they realise that they’re sitting on a goldmine.
