A fresh, dynamic semi-staged opera performance has been created with young but experienced opera singers, based on Frank Wedekind's early drama "Frühlings Erwachen," the librettist of Alban Berg's opera "Lulu." This unusual production takes place in a unique setting, the Budapest Music Center Library. In this concert performance, seven singers accompanied by piano and percussion instruments present a cinematic, condensed interpretation of the work, led by Krisztina Megyeri.
Titled "The Awakening of Spring" (Frühlings Erwachen), this piece is nothing less than an expressionist mini-tragedy, a true coming-of-age drama that now resonates in the world of contemporary opera. Over the course of 13 scenes, we witness the fates of classmates and friends: Wendlá, Melchior, and Moritz. It explores the sexual awakening of youth, adolescent attempts, the sudden loss of childhood innocence, and the confrontation with the challenges of adulthood: desires versus morality.
This premiere concert performance promises a unique experience. It approaches Wedekind's child tragedy with an operatic dramaturgy, presenting it in a more gentle, lyrical, and primarily from a female perspective, infused with frank, honest, and subtle humor. Beautiful vocal performances balance the tragedy of the theme.

Fiatal, de az opera műfajában gyakorlott énekesekkel, friss, dinamikus félig-szcenírozott operaelőadás készül Frank Wedekind (Alban Berg Lulu című operájának szövegkönyvét adó drámák szerzője) korai klasszikusából egy szokatlan térben, a Budapest Music Center Könyvtárában. A koncert-előadáson hét énekessel, zongorával és ütőhangszerekkel szólal meg a filmszerű, sűrített tempójú előadás. A tavasz ébredése címet viselő mű nem más, mint expresszionista mini-tragédia, afféle kamaszdráma, amely ezúttal a kortárs opera köntösében csendül fel.

13 jelenetben osztálytársak, barátok sorsát látjuk: Wendláét, Melchiorét és Moritzét. Fiatalok szexuális ébredése, kamaszkori próbálkozások, hirtelen elveszett gyermekkor, szembesülés a felnőttkor problémáival: vágyak kontra morál. Különleges élményt jelenthet az ősbemutató koncert-előadás, amely operai dramaturgiával, az eredeti színdarabnál lágyabban, líraiabban, és elsősorban női szemszögből ábrázolja Wedekind gyermektragédiájának rázós, őszinte és finom humorral átszőtt történetét. A téma tragikumát ellensúlyozandó, gyönyörű énekhangokon.
