Wildfires in Los Angeles area force thousands to flee

Thousands of people have been told to evacuate as a fast-growing fire races through Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles. CNN's Polo Sandoval speaks with CNN correspondent Nick Watt who is live on the scene, and Los Angeles County resident Neeta Sreekanth about how she is handling the situation.

Most of the world is freezing 🥶 and L.A. is extremely heated with wildfires. I pray everyone in reach can safely get out . Once the smoke spreads, it's so hard to breathe and see. The smell alone is horrible. Be safe 🙏

Yup winds have been crazy all day and slowly the smell of the fire has gotten stronger all day. Pretty crazy. But I'm far from the hills so I'm all good, feel for all those families out there though

Listening to the scanners, the firefighters are doing their best and many have been injured. Praying for their safety.

This is why everyone needs Emergency Go Bags 😕. Have all your important papers in a folder in the bag along with some clothes, water and emergency food stuff… then store those bags near your front door, in a closet(?) where you can just grab and go at a moments notice! Always best to be as prepared as you can get!

I lost my home, it burned down I did not notice the fire as I was sleeping after a hard day of work. Once I woke up I noticed the fire and ran out of my house. The only thing that I took with me was my Nintendogs Nintendo DS game. I will be playing Nintendogs to relax for the mean time while I gain my composure and figure out what my next step in life is.
