I'm pretty old I grew up in the in the 50s and we didn't need such a law because we didn't have such virulent child endangerment laws. To be honest we didn't need them unless we were dumb enough to go to the bad part of town. But I rode my bike through such areas for years the only place I got punched was one block from my house. I feel bad for kids there days. Their parents are stretched Every Witch Way to try and cope with the kids and the law and the neighbors misinterpreting things and being nosey and calling the police. That last thing has got me a bit picqued. Problem is we had the same type of person way back when when I was a kid.

A fine line. But let the parents be the judge not law enforcement. Consideration has to be given to where you live and teaching the kids to be vigilant. I taught my kids to not go peacefully. Catch them by surprise and go down fighting. Making the parent the law breaker is not helpful. Parenting is stressful enough. Government is sticking there nose in to many pies already.

2023 here. What are free range teaching their kid if someone starts shooting when their out and about alone?
It's not just strange danger and car accidents anymore.
I know they are learning a lot in schools with "active shooter" drills. But a building is different than being in the open.
So what are free range parenting telling their kids to do?
