Hi, I'm Dr. Rosenfeld, I'm a proctologist and colorectal surgeon in Simi Valley. I know I just made a spoof on cleaning your colon, ah, for a colonoscopy. Y'know there was a knock on it, but there is no question I will not look in so deep I'll see the back of your throat, but yes, you do have to take a lot of bowel prep to clean out your colon, that is very important. But, colon cancer is a serious issue, March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month and that was my job, to spread awareness on colon cancer. Colon cancer is the second leading cause of deaths in this country. Only lung cancer tops it. The problem is colon cancer if caught early is curable, it's even preventable by doing this test I was talking about, the colonoscopy. So if you are 50 years of age or older, yes, you should talk to your doctor about doing it. If you are younger than 50 and have questions also talk to your doctor to see if you need it. So thank you for watching, I appreciate it. And a little message to Pitbull, I am so sorry that I used this song. I want to thank you so much for this video. I just had mine done..I wasn't going to go through with it cause I'm not good at drinking that much liquid in a day..My hubby told me to go look for some funny videos to get my mind off it (because I was getting ready to cancel it), I found this one.so every hour I watched it ( I love pit bull too ) it was the ONLY thing that got me through all that liquid..they did find one polyp to be adenomatous..big word for me..basically for everyone else..it's potentially pre cancerous. .so thank you doc for posting this video..you saved my life..and for everyone else..get it done if you have to..it's worth it in the end

OMG, This is so funny - and the doc's a great performer and not a bad singer!  Dr. Rosenfeld - what a sweet and caring man you are to go through all this trouble to address peoples' fear about colonoscopies which can help prevent the second leading death by cancer --and it's preventable. Thanks for taking a delicate subject that is verboten to talk about and scary to so many people - and putting a fun spin to this important subject. I had a colonoscopy done back 2018 when I was 19 years old. I had 13 precancerous polyps. In 2019, I had 11 precancerous polyps. I would have gotten a colonoscopy last year in 2020, but COVID made it too risky. I have a colonoscopy this year. It’s actually this Wednesday, October 6th, so I’m prepping tomorrow. I hate not being able to eat food. I have to do a colonoscopy every year because I had so many polyps. I wish I didn’t have to go through this. I’m too young to be dealing with older adult issues. But this song is awesome!

Having my 2 nd one friday! First they did catch a pre-cancerous large flat polyp. Had it removed in 2015. Worth doing people! Better safe then sorry, and it's NOT that bad!!

OMG!  This video cracked me up!  (No pun intended).  I'm 52 and having my first colonoscopy August 13th and I'm terrified!  My grandfather died of colon cancer in 1987.  I actually scheduled a colonoscopy 4 years ago and got so nervous, I cancelled.  This video really lightened things up.  I'm going to try to keep my upcoming appt..  LOL  Anyone that has you as their doctor, is lucky indeed.  Thumbs up.  Beth
