In this video I cover Xtreme Solutions Poly-Seal and LVR 357 Magnum Wax to showcase their hydrophobic performance, resistance against Poorboy's Strip Down, and an application demo for each product.

This specific test is a layered test, I ran two coats of Magnum Wax across the entire hood, the 2nd coat was applied 24 hours after the first coat. Then Poly-Seal was applied to just the left half of the hood. The paint was prepped beforehand using Griot's Garage Perfecting Cream, followed up with CarPro Eraser as a panel wipe. This first rinse on camera is 24 hours after applying Poly-Seal on top of the left half.

The paint was then washed with CarPro Reset as my wash soap, then Poorboy's World Strip Down was used to perform the strip test. For Strip Down, I lightly misted the panel with water before fully saturating the entire surface with Strip Down, then I pulled out the wash mitt from the Reset bucket and thoroughly agitated just the middle section of the test hood in-between the body creases, the other edges of the panel were just sprayed with Strip Down and rinsed.

Overall, Poly-Seal is certainly a unique spray sealant to work with. You want to work on a wet surface, and then take a damp microfiber towel and spray Poly-Seal directly into this towel, then wipe into the surface. Afterwards, take a fully dry microfiber towel to give it a final wipedown. The result is an incredibly slick surface left behind, with great gloss and strong water behavior. Poly-Seal is designed to be an SiO2 infused polymer based spray sealant, with 3 months of expected durability, perfect for maintenance of your base layer protectant.

LVR 357 Magnum Wax is an amino-resin reinforced acrylic paint sealant, with an expected durability range of up to 6+ months. Not quite as hydrophobic as Poly-Seal, but good hydrophobics. This is an incredibly easy to use paint sealant, with excellent spreading capabilities when applied by hand, and it's super easy to remove after it's dried on the surface. Standard dry time after spreading this on your paint is between 10-15 minutes, this can change depending on your environment and how hot your paint is. Excellent slick surface left behind with great gloss.

Both very enjoyable products to work with, Poly-Seal was one of the most highly requested products that I was asked to try out by my subscribers and I'm having a lot of fun playing around with it. Magnum Wax's ease of use makes it a fantastic option if you want to work by hand, to use after a long session of paint polishing.

Yes ... to a Poly-Seal solo, or versus a comparable product while not being used as a topper 👍

Nice I used that combo 2 weeks ago. When I get the truck back for maintenance interested in the durability of the product. I'm a huge fan of extreme solutions. Easy to use thanks for the video.

This combo appears to have it all, super gloss with a nice jetting effect, top tier protection and 12 months+ durability (according to a reply from the brand on their own video for PolySeal)! Thanks for the helpful demo here. "Power Xtreme!!"

I have watched almost all your videos you do a great job showing these products. I'm a huge duragloss fan and would love to see you demo some of there products. There hardly any videos out there on duragloss 101, 105, 111, and aqua wax. There dirt cheap, durable, and easy to use.

Great to know more about xtreme solutions products available and how to use/apply dry or wet and how to mix for proper usage.
Thanks WaxMode

I fool around a lot with the Xtreme products, the Guardian Wax and Magnum wax will work together from my testing as well. Did a black Miata and it is awesome. Let cure for two days and topped with PolySeal. I’ve got a bunch of the stuff from them. 403, 404 also are big winners as well pretty much everything I’ve tried they make works. Good video props to the guys out at Xtreme.

WaxMode, I just wanted to thank you for your suggestion of Prep-All. I used it to make sure that when I started polishing there was nothing on the paint. The paint was so pristine that a tunnel carwash ended up leaving non-destructive spots after a speedy drive. In other words, there was zero on the paint.

Then I polished with Sonax Perfect Finish, which is idiot proof. Then more Prep-All. By golly, the result was sublime.

Thanks for your help.

Awesome video bro! I can't wait to try out my Gaurdian wax from them. I didn't know the Poly seal was a wet application, that's good to know! Definitely the side topped with Poly seal was more resistant! Once again fantastic video and great information!!!! Take it easy Man! Smurf is stuffed off Taco's!

Funny. I told my wife, when I brought her from the Czech Republic, how important packaging is in the States. You could bottle crap and package it nice and sell it for a high price. At least till you're found out. But you'd still have people who'd swear by it. 😂

Thanks for testing Poly Seal. So many great products available now. Could you rank the following products in order of how you like them? Poly Seal, Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax, Hybrid Solutions Spray Coating, Griots 3 in 1 Ceramic Wax and Beadmaker. I have not tried Beadmaker, Poly Seal or the Griots 3 in 1 but, my favorite is Hybrid Solutions Spray Coating then following with Wet Wax after washes.

Can you talk a little about the composition of Magnum wax vs something like a carnauba wax. Also what’s your opinion-on having Xtreme making this formula in a abrasive cleaner wax for AIO applications? Thanks wax mode

Great, great video. Comprehensive and full of perspective.

My thoughts on the marketing bit: I partially disagree, but it’s more on strategy than delivery. I love the simplicity of the product presentation (per bottle), but don’t like the long menu of choices. I think I understand why they have so many categories of products (traditional vs modern ingredients perhaps), but to a set of fresh eyes that menu can be dizzying.

What I love is that they are NOT like Ethos or the big hitters, with this Michael Bay-esque look of CGI graphics and refinement. You memorize LVR-304 because everyone who uses it loves what’s actually inside the bottle. And in theory, that approach lowers the price per bottle because they aren’t wasting time investing in bottle appearance...yet are focusing on the car’s appearance.

If you get what you wish for there might be fewer products, but the better those products themselves look, kiss affordability goodbye. And for someone looking for a reliable product line as a detailing business, it really could matter when buying inventory.

Thanks again for such great content.

Thanks for the great review. I've got some Poly Seal and it's a good product at it's price point, but as you say here, I've definitely seen other products that are much more hydrophobic. I, like you, am ALL ABOUT THE HYDROPHOBICS! That's probably the main feature of a product that moves my senses. I want to see that great hydrophobics. After seeing this video, the product I want to get my hands on now is the Magnum Wax. That stuff looked great. The fact that you could technically over apply the product somewhat and still get that incredible wipe off is incredible. Not that I would intentionally over apply a product, but some consumers or weekend detailers might. The fact that if they did, and could still get a great wipe off is really great. And the durability of Magnum at up to six months is totally worth the price. This would be a great all around wax for the everyday person just wanting to wash a vehicle and get some basic protection on their vehicle. Looks like a perfect place for this wax.

Hello Waxmode. See you in livestreams, thought I'd check you out

I'd like see your thoughts on NV Nova's Jet and Lustre. Their Boost product is also quite interesting as a quick detail spray that does not affect the properties of the underlying coating, sealant, or wax.

Hey dude! I only have a Huffy 7 speed do you think I could use the magnum on the frame and poly seal on my bike seat?
