As a homeowner, Roofer installed my roof 6 days ago. Looks good from the outside. I decided to walk inside the attic. I noticed they used long shanks (framing nails) on the underlayment. Also, spotted a shingle nail nailed together. I have a bad feeling about this work. I still haven't received the second payout from the insurance. Can I use an inspector from the homeowner's insurance? or have to hire a pvt?

I replaced a roof like that once. No tar paper or anything. The leaks ruined the house and drove out the owner.

I've made my living in the roofing business, I've seen much much worse not leak and something that looks perfect, leak like crazy

You should always have a tarp on the roof

They used transparent synthetic. It self seals like ice guard. Google it.💥
