It's a nice choice to freshen the classroom atmosphere. Puns are fun and mixed with mnemonic technique would be utilized to enhanced learners vocabulary learning ability and scaffold them to think critically, brighten their vision, enlighten their thoughts ;in addition, to equipped language learners with abilities which could expedite their learning rate and farther their route. Since pun is a tool to teach language pupils build their abilities and help them pave the path to be more autonomous learner, cultural differences need to be taken into account. Due to the nature of PUN which can be culture bound and prevails deeper facets of language, language learning, and teaching. The teacher who uses pun need to be cautious about cultural differences and what might be funny in English or another language could potentially be an insult to another learner. To sum up, using pun recklessly without teaching learners to appreciate differences and develop tolerance toward understanding varidness not only does not help them but also could be detrimental to their learning.

A Scottish friend of mine told me 'smiles" is the longest word in the world. Why? I said. Well, between "s" and "s" there is a "mile" was her answer.

By just reading the title, I decided to give you a thumb up! I've lived in the US for more than ten years but those deep culture jokes are still challenging. I love SNL sketches but I can only get part of the jokes. I wish someone like you could be sitting with me and explaining all the points and why some of them are funny...

Then here is a homonymic pun which is the best reading up. What is it? Black, white and re(a)d all over? A newspaper. You can hear: Black, white and red all over, so if you don't think of reading, you won't even find it out. It was one of the best lessons you got!

"Catch up" is i think to know the updates or the latest things about a person: maybe because there was this story or issue or anything that was the last thing you know about that person. Like, the last thing you know where he lives, or his last girlfriend or job or his mother being sick...anything.
