Even as a Utd fan, Salah has done it consistently for years. And is so under appreciated. Deserves more credit than he gets. And that’s painful to say

It use to be a debate, but I think salah has just moved on to a different level now. But then again, I think despite similarities in position, they both offer very different things (when hazard was in his prime)

Salah ended this debate multiple seasons ago, and I'm a Utd fan.

2 golden boots and on track for another, belters in big games and a great record against top 6, performed in CL to get them a trophy and multiple finals... this is without even bringing up fitness/injuries etc

Football isn’t about numbers but you simply can’t ignore what salah is. Guaranteed goals and assists year in year out. What we’re seeing from salah right now is the best any player has been in the history of the league

Hazard offers you elite ball retention and space manipulation, Salah offers you world class expected goals and assists, it’s all about what you can do with each players and make them effective against the opponent you’re playing against, I would personally choose Salah, but that’s my biased Liverpool fan opinion, however I don’t enjoy the knock a man down to hype your man thing that social media do these days, both are greats of the game that can be appreciated individually.

I’m a Chelsea fan but it’s funny because the reason that Salah is better than Hazard is the same reason that Lampard is better than Gerrard. Gerrard and Hazard can do more on the ball and are better to watch but you can’t argue with trophies and stats. So it makes no sense to me other than complete bias when a Liverpool fan says Salah and Gerrard are better because the reasons contradict themselves.

Liverpool fan here, I think they’re so different. There’s a reason that Salah is being compared to players like Aguero, Kane and (prematurely) Henry, because despite playing “on the wing” he’s much more of a wide forward for us. He isn’t expected to get wide and cross, he isn’t even really expected to dribble large distances, his main expectation for us is to get goals and assists. That’s not me taking away from what he does either, but I just mean you wouldn’t judge Aguero on how well he crossed the ball or dribbled past defenders, you judge him on his scoring record.

It’s like comparing Gerrard and Lampard, both midfielders but both asked to do such drastically different roles.

If you are going to compare them though I do agree with the point about Hazard having a season off, whereas Mo has just been consistently at the top his entire Liverpool career.

Salah IS one of the greatest players EVER in the Premier League. He’s also THE most underrated. His numbers year in year out stack up against anyone who’s ever played in the league.

One off game in a UCL final, most definitely Hazard. Full season, definitely Salah. But also could depend on who they have around them. Hazard can do far and away more with less. Salah rarely, if ever, single-handedly carried his team through wins.

Same debate as the lampard Gerrard one. Lampard and Salah had the better stats but Gerrard and hazard were the better players

It depends what you’re looking for. They’re similar but vastly different. I feel prime hazard was a better player but statistically salah has the edge. It’s similar to Messi vs Ronaldo

People tend to brush off Salah’s goals and assists as if they are not relevant in these comparisons with Hazard. So much denial whereas Salah is more comparable to Henry now.
