I think the wolverine in this movie is the X-men origins wolverine showing that the origins movie wasn’t close to be part of the X-men universe being the scenes we see Cassandra see in that Logan’s head is just mainly scenes from origins

The Wolverine from Logan is not part of the original Fox X-Men timeline it’s him but after Days Of Future Past so X-Men 1-3 aren’t canon in this new timeline samething with the middle of X-Men Origins Wolverine and the end of that movie, samething with The Wolverine,
