I wish I could go to other countries and vote in their elections without having any stake in the game. What could possibly go wrong?

This really backfired on them…it looks like many that voted are Asian and you don’t mess with schools, especially merit based rules.

I don’t know of any country that allows non-citizens to vote in elections.

SF Govt: let the non citizens vote and have their voices be heard.

Non Citizens: let’s vote for traditional and conservative values.

SF Govt: calls ICE and have these guys send back to their countries.

If I walk into a Safeway after closing I get arrested and charged with trespassing but if I break into a COUNTRY I get rights, rewards, and advocacy.
In the 90s this would have been a ruse to have them come down in order to arrest and deport. e.g., “You won a TV. Come to the convention center for pickup”

In NYC you can now vote in all municipal elections, mayor, everything. As long as youve lived in New York for 30 days, doesnt matter if you came legal or not

Don’t you know that non citizens are more conservative in their political views?

Maybe we could send absentee ballots all over the world, that would really be fair. Maybe we should do this nationally, what could possibly go wrong?

I am planning on a world wide trip next year to cast my votes in 25 different countries' elections. I have my American passport so I should be able to vote in all their elections, right? Non US citizens get to vote here, right?

I'd hope there is some measure to verify those non-citizens have been in the community for quite awhile and are basically citizens at this point. IDK what that number would, but I don't feel comfortable just letting anyone who immigrates here the ability to influence our country right off the bat. There needs to be some buy in of our values, ideas, culture, etc. If there's not, this ceases to be our country and can easily begin to mirror other countries those non-citizens are from. There's a reason for not letting an immigrant/none natural citizen become president. Just being realistic here, this is small scale but thinking of the implications of something like this. If someone wants to vote, they need to become a citizen as a rite of passage, that they love this country and want to be part of it.
