Mandolin Mondays Featuring Michael Cleveland /// 'Lonesome Desert'
Показать описание
Mandolin Mondays #125: The one and only Michael Cleveland sets down his fiddle to play us an original mandolin tune for this week's Mandolin Monday! What a hoss! And that Gilchrist mando isn't too shabby either!
10-time IBMA Fiddle Player of the Year, and Grammy Award-Winning recording artist Michael Cleveland is the real deal! He's played fiddle with all the bluegrass legends, including Bill Monroe, Jim and Jesse, Ralph Stanley, Mac Wiseman, Doc Watson, Larry Sparks, Doyle Lawson, and J.D. Crowe. Michael toured full time with Rhonda Vincent and with Dale Ann Bradley before striking out on his own to start the acclaimed and award-winning band Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper.
Here, Michael talks about the song in this video, "Here’s a song of mine called the "Lonesome Desert." It appears on my latest album, Fiddler’s Dream. All my life, I have been a big audiobook reader, and one of my favorite authors is Louis L’Amour. In my opinion, there was no one who capture the old west better! I was reading one of his books where the hero got stuck in the desert with no food, gun, or water and of course he had to try to make it out alive. At one point, L’Amour called it the lonesome desert and I thought that would be a great name for this song."

And as always, tune in next week for more Mandolin Mondays! Until then...
Happy Picking!
