Queen Elizabeth II: Flowers and Paddington bears removed one week after funeral | Thousands of floral tributes and Paddington Bears left in memory of Queen Elizabeth II in Green Park and Hyde Park have started to be cleared away. Staff and volunteers from the Royal Parks charity were seen picking up the tributes and placing them in carts pulled by two Shire horses. They will be taken to the Leaf Pen in Kensington Gardens where the flowers will be blended with leaf litter and other green waste, to be composted and turned into mulch.

It is lovely that the flowers were taken away with some dignity when it might have been more efficient to bring in some machinery. I imagine they will be used as compost for a very special garden. I notice some are offended there were people who chose to buy bouquets. There is always someone with opinions on how other people ought to spend their money. My only curiosity is how the florists in the UK were able to supply the demand. The volume was staggering. Fond regards from the USA.

These flowers should be used to fertilize some peaty or moorish areas, that need the extra manure to revive .
Then everyone can look at these areas later as having been watered by the outwelling of the emotional feelings felt by her people, with hopes for greener lives to come with her passing .

For remembrance, a single stalk is all that's needed. No need for all that outlandish bouquets, plastic wrappers, balloons, teddies. Rather than a garden of remembrance, it looks like a dumpsite.
